Ellie HarrisEllie Harris joins The Last Hurdle™ as a Digital Marketing Apprentice. After studying an Extended Diploma in IT Business, Ellie discovered she had a keen interest in the design and development of websites, which she hopes to perfect and learn more about during her apprenticeship. Ellie is also enjoying the daily social media monitoring and growth for clients and is keen to develop her skills in this area too.

Jules says: “Ellie is a very fast learner, she has an analytical mind and it is great to have a colleague who shares my passion for all things web. I am looking forward to seeing how Ellie and this side of the business grows over the next 12 months.”

When not at work, Ellie likes to go running and enjoys movie nights and loves nothing better than a rom-com! During the summer months, she likes to go travelling and visit new places – specifically around the Greek islands.

Emma Pearce joined The Last Hurdle™ in December 2015 as a Content Producer. Emma has always had a flare for writing so this is the perfect job for her. Emma is also an experienced photographer having spent several years photographing everything from properties to brides. She has a great eye for composition, a skill which she is now using to write interesting and exciting copy for the diverse client base here at The Last Hurdle™

Outside of work, Emma is a mum of four who enjoys dancing, having recently taken part in Strictly Towcester, and indulging in her favourite obsession, photography.

Emma brings a passion and creativity that enhances The Last Hurdles business offering and the team are very excited to welcome her to The Last Hurdle™ family. Jules comments “Emma is a natural writer, it is rare to find someone with creative and factual writing skills. I am sure she will prove a most valuable addition to the team!”

russ whiteRuss White is The Last Hurdle’s Operation Manager. Responsible for the onsite maintenance, security, purchasing, accounts and ensuring the day to day running of the business flows as smoothly as possible. Russ is a handy guy to have around as he has experience in everything from plumbing, tiling and general maintenance through to cost management. Russ’ main role (once the new office is ship shape) will be to work with our accountant on cost planning and budgets.

Jules says: “It’s great to have Russ on board as we were all struggling to share these duties between us, which of course meant somethings were done twice and others not at all. I am confident Russ will keep us well stocked, well maintained and allow the rest of us to focus on our own tasks.”

Introducing the most technical member of our team;

anton web developerAnton Hinxman is our web developer and heads up our Website Host Management Team.

Anton develops client benefit through the use of websites, intranet applications and databases together with their hosting. Some 30 years ago he started his career as a games programmer with WH Smiths releasing his work. Soon afterwards he followed on with formal qualifications in COBOL Programming and then with System Analysis. More recently, he has added Sun Java Certification (version 1.4) and then the Open University Web Applications Certificate. Even after 30 years, he still retains the same passion to be creative.

Anton has developed and delivered both simple and complex business applications. He has worked as part of a companies’ team or individually.
He is not stressed by the high financial consequences as you can find his programming logic in the core of systems handing well over three million pounds a day. Anton is equally happy with big or small projects. He always finds the time to get the detail right for the smallest task.

As a contractor he has worked with many development languages and technologies and his IT skills have been gained over many years. His programming skills can be applied against the typical urgent ‘drop of a hat’ type of task such as database import/export routines or database recovery. He can offer unique data intelligence advantage to the management process through programming, or creatively collating, a new view of your business data. Alternatively, he can develop a whole application from the ground up. So his skills range from the urgent ‘fix and rescue’ to the complete application lifecycle of: requirements analysis, functional design, programming, unit testing, client acceptance and client hand over.

Current development languages: LAMP hosting, PHP development, MySQL databases, Joomla MVC components, CodeCharge, WordPress and Laravel implementations.

Jules White has worked in sales & marketing for over 18 years,  with extensive experience in media, recruitment & service based industries. Her aptitude for training became apparent when she was seconded to Mayfair to train a sales team for a well known life-style journalist’s new venture. She has since assisted close friends and associates to expand their comfort zones to gain extra leads, business or confidence. As further requests for help roll in, this prompted the launch of The Last Hurdle™. Established in 2011 The Last Hurdle™ has grown exponentially with an enviable client base. Jules has been an avid user of social media platforms as a business development tool for The Last Hurdle™ and their clients. The successful implementation of which earned her an invitation to sit on the panel at the first Facebook Bootcamp event in EMEA sharing her tips for utilising the platform for business and again during a Summer tour in Cardiff in July 2015.

Jules maintains that each Business Development plan she provides for her clients is as bespoke and unique as they are. Rather than trying to ram a square peg in a round hole, her consultation meetings are designed to get to the core of the business it’s services/products and the target markets. Providing sometimes innovative routes to market, Jules has her eye on exploiting every opportunity in her clients favour.

Actively involved with a number of local charities, Jules is also a sales trainer and is often asked to speak at network meetings, business clubs & AGM’s. Jules is a networking advocate, a huge social media fan and has acquired passion for organic SEO. Utilising her core sales and marketing skills Jules has built a successful Business Development Team.
