Using Facebook as your Business Page

Facebook can be an amazing platform for marketing your business, as well as creating and maintaining business relationships. We often have the ability to merge our personal accounts with our business page on Facebook, so that it becomes easier to access and maintain our page on a day-to-day basis. This can be done by having one main account (person profile), rather than having multiple accounts for each page you manage. Having a crossover of your business life and personal life can help sell your business to others, as they are more likely to want to invest in a person rather than a faceless company.

Using Facebook as your business page

Not long ago, we used to be able to click the arrow in the top-right corner of our Facebook screen and click ‘View As…’ so that we could switch accounts to manage, post and engage with other posts with our own business page as our profile. However, as Facebook is always changing, we now post, like and comment as our own page in a different way. This article explains the basics of using Facebook as your Business Page.
To navigate to one of your managed pages, find the Pages section on the left-side panel on Home. This shows all the pages you manage.

You can easily select which page to post from, by clicking the small icon of your profile picture in the top right-hand corner of the status box. This brings up a drop-down box listing all pages linked to your Facebook account, and also a search box to make it easier to find the page/profile name.

When you have chosen a page, any posts you make will be made from your chosen page.

This can also be applied to liking, commenting on and sharing posts in a page also, so again, you can decide which page or profile to do this from.

The only negative we see to this new way of using Facebook as your Business Page is it can get a little tedious changing for each like or comment, on the upside it is somewhat faster as by the time you spot something you want to like or comment on as your business page, make the switch – it used to be tricky tracking down the post again!
As with all new Facebook developments, this new method may take a little bit of getting used to, but in the long run it gives us far more flexibility!
