How to remove the suggested video features in YouTube

YouTube videos are a great feature to apply to your website or business presentation, especially as a lot of people find it better to learn and understand a topic when music, colour and motion is applied – rather than the simple black and white text. However, YouTube videos often have a ‘suggested videos’ feature at the end of the video to show all related videos that are a good recommendation to watch. Nine times out of ten, this can be a huge distraction as the suggested videos eventually go off topic, which isn’t great for educational websites or business presentations. One minute you find yourself watching the ‘Start-Up Guide to Search Engine Optimisation’ to make the best out of your business website, and the next, you’re sat watching a completely irrelevant episode of ‘The Top 10 Most Dangerous Animals in the World’!

This article explains exactly how to remove the suggested videos feature from any Youtube video you embed, as well as the player controls and video title.

The first thing you will need to do is locate the ‘Share’ button underneath a video you would like to embed.

The next thing you will need to do is click on the Embed handle that follows after you click Share. This will bring up an iframe code for you to embed onto a website or presentation.

At the bottom of the box that comes up, you will see a Video size drop-down list, follow by a range of tick boxes with options to adjust exactly how you want your video to appear after it has been embedded.

To remove the suggested video features at the end of the video – untick ‘Show suggested videos when the video finishes’. If you also want to hide the player controls or the video title, untick the next two boxes from the box.

Next, copy the iframe code above the video preview, and paste it into the area of your website you want the video to be shown.
